This is my zero day.  The rain stopped around noon, but I didn’t feel like going.  I hung my tent up, so it could dry from all the rain, and just knocked around at the shelter for the day.

While hanging out at the shelter, a search and rescue team came in. They were looking for a 67 year old guy who slipped and went down a steep drop. Instead of calling 911, the guy called his daughter, so the search team was getting second hand info on his whereabouts. Even with a helicopter, they couldn’t find him. The search went into the third day on Wednesday and all the hikers are saying if he’s found, it will most likely be a dead body.

I built a nice fire with the help of the rescue team’s (see below) power saw, which cut some nice dry wood to burn in the fire.  A few of the rescue team were just hanging around while another team did the searching.

I’ll try to shoot a picture to give you an idea of how narrow the trail is in parts. Sometimes it’s nothing more the a couple of feet wide with a steep drop on the side.
