Walnut Mountain Shelter

Walnut Mountain Shelter

Mile 260.6
Elevation 4,245
Miles Hiked 13.1

There was a high chance of rain, so I went as fast as I could and arrived at the shelter around 5 PM. The shelter wasn’t too appealing (few are), but I grabbed a spot anyway since I didn’t want to fool with a wet tent in the morning.

As it turns out, it didn’t rain. That made me wish I had stayed in my tent instead. One guy next to me in the shelter kept me up most of the night tossing and turning and I swear he tried to spoon me once. No more. I’ll take the wet tent next time.
