Took a zero day (no hiking). It was cold, raining and generally miserable outside. It gave me plenty of time to wash clothes, rearrange my back-pack, clean equipment and just read and relax. This morning I took advantage of the kitchen’s all you can eat breakfast. What a spread! I stuffed myself, but it’s too much food and I probably won’t do it again for the $12 it cost.
Hikers were coming in all day telling about the cold driving rain on the trail, so I felt good about my decision. At night the hostel was so full, they actually sold space on the couch as a bed for the night. Jed, who slept on the couch, said he was happy to get it.
I will be back on the trail tomorrow. I have to get to my first provisioning package, which is two days away. I’m almost out of food.
