Another day, another steep climb. The day started with a 500 foot climb, but that was easy compared to the 1,700 foot climb to our campsite in the afternoon. Just to make it more interesting, Virginia provided rocks and boulders to climb over, or in my case, fall onto. Nothing hurt but my pride. Some young hiker tried to help me up on one fall, but I refused.
Creak and I made good time, but not great time due to the level of difficulty. We left our previous campsite at 7:30 AM and arrived at the current campsite at 5:00 PM. The campsite has a great view of a valley below. Weather is a little chilly at 4,100 feet, but it’s clear out and the view is spectacular.
