I got an early start this morning (7:00 AM), because we, Miss B and her dog, Rio and I, wanted to get to the Upper Goose Pond Cabin as early as possible. While there were no rocky climbs, there were still fairly big ones and a lot of small rocks and roots at different times.
About 11:30 AM I came upon a self service snack shop a farmer put out for hikers. You take a drink and snack and put the money in a pouch. Pretty cool.
We arrived at the cabin about 4:30 PM. The cabin is over 100 years old and was acquired by the Appalachian Mountain Club. It is used exclusively for lodging hikers. There were a lot of hikers there, but I was able to get a lower bunk. It’s supposed to rain, so this should be a good sleep.
