I overslept. I woke up at 7 AM. That all day hike up the mountain really exhausted me. Scott and I broke camp and walked into Summerhaven.
I was ready for a big breakfast in town. Nope. Everything was closed until late morning. That was frustrating, but no way was I going to wait. I headed for the trail.

Sky Island is what they call these high Elevation towns.
The trail was hard to follow in spots. There were boulders in the trail, too. All that really slowed me down. I wanted to reach the next water source about 13 miles south.
As the day went on, it became clear I would not reach my target. Around 4 PM I started looking for a campsite. I was hoping not to repeat a night hike like the day before. At 5 PM, I found a campsite. I’m low on water, but I should be okay until tomorrow.
