I got away at 7 AM. Compared to yesterday, this will be a short day. My target is to arrive at Deep Creek Hot Springs. Right in the large creek, there are pools of hot and cold water. I would love to soak my feet at least.
The trail had its usual ups and downs. It always seems like there are more ups. I took my time and took a break every couple of hours. I had another creek to ford. Actually, I forded two in the morning and one in the afternoon. It seems as soon as my shoes dry, they get wet again. At least my pants dry fast.
About two miles from my destination, I encountered one angry bee. He stung me, and then kept trying to sting me again, or maybe it was another bee. Swinging at it did no good, so I got going fast.
I arrived at the hot springs at 4 PM. First thing was to set up camp. Once that was done, I soaked my feet in the hot spring. It felt so good! Too bad there aren’t more hot springs every 50 miles.
Oh! I passed 300 trail miles today.
