After the ordeal that was Goat Rocks, I was happy to see a more sedate day was in store today. There was a 1,000 foot ascent at the beginning of the day and end of the day. In between, the trail was either going down or level
The day progressed with nothing out of the ordinary happening and at 5:00 PM I was ready to call it a day. Before arriving at the intended campsite, I thought about getting some water. There were a couple of pools right before my campsite. However I did not like the look of the water and passed them by. And there it is. I made a rookie mistake. I should have got the water because my bladder was just about empty. I set up my tent and then had to walk half a mile back to the pool of water that I passed by. I got some water and returned to the campsite. This water is really going to screw up my filter, because it’s so dirty, but I had no choice. Lesson learned.
