After that brutal climb yesterday and despite foot problems, I slept good. I’ve been fooling with my air mattress. When I blow it up, it’s to the maximum. However, it seems that’s too hard. I have trouble sleeping on my back because it hurts. So, I’m gradually reducing the amount of air in the mattress to determine if that’ll help and it seems it does.
There were a lot of tents at the campsite last night. As usual I was the last one to pack up and get hiking. At 6:45 I began the continuation of yesterday’s climb. That wore me out that early in the morning, and set the tone for the day.
Along with the lingering fatigue from the early morning climb, the top of my right foot shot a severe pain through my foot on a descending trail. A couple of days earlier, I had mistakenly tied my right shoe too tight to help traverse descending trails. Now that bad decision was coming back to haunt me with more foot problems.

I stopped at lunch time and put some mole skin and a Band-Aid on the top of my right foot. That seems to have helped as whatever pain there was afterward was not bad at all.
After doing successive 20 mile plus days, and enduring the big climb the afternoon before, I decided on a short day for today. My target campsite will be only about a 13 mile hike.
I reached the intended campsite about 4:00 p.m. after another big climb. It was good to set up my tent and get in it for a quick nap. Hopefully I’ll sleep well tonight. I’m still reducing air in my air mattress so we’ll see how that goes.
