Moonshine Shelter

Miles Hiked Today 15.4

Today’s target is Moonshine Shelter.  That’s another 15 plus mile day. So, I got an early start this morning and began hiking in the dark. The day’s hike returned to lots of rocks and many ascents and descents.  In fact in the afternoon I was going up and down from mountain gap to mountain gap.  That really wore on me and slowed me down.

As usual, the shelter I intended to stay at was on a big ascent. It’s always lovely to get thoroughly tired out at the end of the day with a big climb to the shelter. I did arrive just at dark. There was a pond by the shelter, and I scooped out two liters of water. No rationing tonight. I’m going to have my fill of water and try to beat my dehydration.
