After the previous days, I was in no mood for a long hike today.  I started out at 7:00 AM with Franconia Ridge just ahead.  Franconia Ridge is an above the treeline hike over three mountain peaks.  The view was absolutely stunning.  The day was clear and warm, which made for excellent conditions.  It took several hours  to go over all the peaks and then the trail headed down.

Forever rocky, I hiked down from the ridge.  It was a difficult hike down with all the rocks and boulders.  I reached the shelter at 5:30.  It was a really nice shelter and only one other hiker was in it, so I decided to stay there for the night.  The other hiker was a Frenchman who spoke little English, so I got a chance to try out my French.
