Elevation 2,178.0 feet
Miles Hiked 13.3

I hung around the Bascom Lodge for awhile before leaving at 9:15 AM.  I’m heading to the next shelter and will try to get there before some rain that is forecast for late afternoon.

There are a couple of small climbs and then a 1,600 foot steep climb.  It’s really hot and humid today, so I’m not looking forward to the steep climb.

True to the forecast, it was a hot day and I was drenched thoroughly in sweat.  Late afternoon I crossed into Vermont and within 15 minutes it began to rain.  The rain made little difference to my condition since my clothes were dripping wet from sweat already.  It stopped raining after 10 minutes.

I arrived at the shelter at 5:30 PM and it started raining again within 30 minutes.  I’m glad I’m here.  By the way, I went over 1,600 miles total miles on the AT today.
