It rained again last night.  Fortunately, it stopped by 8:00 AM.   I got off late due to the rain and didn’t start hiking until 9:00 AM.

There was a big storm in the area about three weeks ago.  A lot of trees around the RPH Shelter were blown down and the trail was impassable.  The trail maintenance crews did good work cutting up the fallen trees to open the trail again.

The trail, while still having its share of ups and downs, was less rocky and much better maintained.  I was able to move a little faster than usual despite the problem with my feet.

The trail goes over an interstate highway

I arrived at the shelter at 7:30 PM.  I took the last spot in the shelter and was in my sleeping bag by 8:30 PM after dinner.
