I slept well in my tent last night and was up by 6:00 AM and off by 7:30. Again the trail was easy early on but then I hit Buchanan Mountain with another steep climb. Later came Arden Mountain with an equally steep climb and my pace fell again. Fortunately, I was only going 10 miles for the day.
I came off the trail about 3:30 PM and then had to walk 2 miles along the road to the motel. I’ll be staying here tonight and tomorrow night and chalking up a zero day to try to recoup. The big toes on both feet are not doing well at all and I’ll probably try to see a doctor in a town down the trail that has a doctor. Southfields does not.
