Tony's Hiking Adventure

Iron Mountain Shelter

Iron Mountain Shelter

Mile 442.7
Elevation 4,094
Miles Hiked 16.0

The first part of the hike included an uphill hike of almost 3 miles with elevation gain of 1,400 feet. Tough climb.

I linked up with two other older hikers during this hike. Blake (Numbers) and Bill (Slippery Doc) are around my age, so the mix was good. Blake is an accountant for John Deer and Bill a doctor (I know. Good choice.)

Slippery Doc & Numbers

This section of the trail had a lot of downed trees on the trail, which made it difficult at times. We arrived at the shelter just before dark.
