Still at the Nantahala Mountain Lodge doing a zero day (no hiking). The time was spent organizing my backpack and planning the hike through the Great Smokey Mountain National Park. Although Deejay has decided not to go through the Smokies, she is helping me with planning, and she is a big help in in that regard. The park only gives through hikers eight days to get through the park and it looks like I’ll need all eight of those days.
So the entire day was spent sitting on the couch in the great room, planning my hike and watching TV. It was nice not doing anything. Tomorrow morning we’ll be shuttled to Stecoah Gap. From there, I’ll hit the trail again and Deejay is going to wait for a ride to Davenport, which is the northern end of the Great Smokey Mountain National Park.
