The first part of my zero day was spent cleaning my equipment updating the blog and watching news to catch up on what’s going on in the world.
About 3 PM, I headed for the post office. It was going to be a little complicated getting there, but I needed the provisions that had been sent. Just as I reached the central bus station, Scott called. I had tried to reach him by phone, but Verizon kept telling me his number is invalid. Scott and his girlfriend, who had drove up from Tucson, were heading to the post office, too. They swung by the bus station and picked me up, and we both picked up provision packages at the post office.
Afterwards, we walked around downtown sightseeing and talking. Eventually we ended up in a restaurant and had dinner. They dropped me back at my motel after dinner. I spent the rest of the evening checking my hiking gear and packing it in my backpack. Tomorrow it’s back on the trail.
