Mile 196.7
Elevation 5,486
Miles Hiked 7.4
Hiked a short day, only 7.5 miles, to Double Spring Gap shelter. Getting in early guaranteed a good spot in the shelter and plenty of time to chill (literally). A trail maintainer hiked in with chocolate chip cookies for everyone so it was a good dessert. Then I tried to build a fire. Usually I’m pretty good at that but not this time – a monumental failure. All the wood was wet. It was a cold windy night.
