Globe, Arizona
I’m going into the town of Globe, Arizona to pickup provisions and take a day off. I didn’t want to get in too early and not be able to check in at the hotel.

Gladly, I finished hiking Four Peaks Wilderness. I find no joy walking on the outer edge of a mountain on a narrow path with loose stones and rocks.

The trail turned onto a more primitive path. Then I entered Four Peaks Wilderness. The trail narrowed until it was one to one and one-half feet wide.

The doctor said I was good to continue hiking, so it’s back to the trail. I left Banner Urgent Care and immediately began hitchhiking to the trail.
A cow wandered into my camp and was mooing all night. I got up late thanks to the cow. The plan was to hitchhike into Payson and have my leg examined.

I started hiking with either Payson or Globe as my destination. Ultimately, it was decided to go to Payson for medical attention due to its closer proximity.

The Mazatzal Wilderness continued on with its rock strewn big ascents and descents. I was hoping to do about 15 miles considering the difficulty.

It was a beautiful day on the mountain. It showed off the lower lands and the mountains of the Tonto National Forest. This was still the Mazatzal Wilderness.

The trail started going up and the big climbs start. It went from 3.300 feet to 5,190 feet where I’m camped. That’s almost a 2,000 foot elevation gain.
It’s back to the trail earlier than I planned. We got to the trailhead at 8 AM and after a bit, began hiking. Almost immediately the trail started going up.
