This morning I woke up with a knee problem. There was a sharp pain just to the left of my left knee. It felt like somebody hit it with a hammer. I can’t imagine what caused it. Nothing that happened while hiking yesterday would explain this. So now I’m concerned that the strenuous hiking has done something to my knee. However when I started hiking today it was fine. I didn’t feel it, but if I touched it, the pain was still there and it was swelling. Mysteries of the world I guess.
This was a tough day for hiking. The trail kept going up and down with some sizable ascents to deal with. I was not doing well and consequently took numerous breaks during the day. I would like to be doing 15 miles a day or more, but it doesn’t look like that’s going to happen anytime soon.
I finished the day at about 4:30 p.m. there was a campground supposedly in the area where I am now camped. However I’m not in that campground and I couldn’t find it. So, I found a spot and pitched my tent. Unfortunately, I didn’t notice how sloped it is. That means I’ll be sliding to one side all night. It’s not going to be a good night for sleep.
