Oregon and Washington High Point

Miles Hiked 291.6
PCT Mile 798.2
Elevation feet 6,926
Miles Hiked Today 18.5

I got a good night’s sleep last night and now I’m ready. Today is the day that the trail goes up to the high point for both Washington and Oregon.

I was up and hiking by 6:15 a.m. . I’m already at a high elevation where I slept last night. Nevertheless, going up to the high point will prove challenging.

Mount Thielsen Wilderness

The morning started with level or slightly descending hike.  I also encountered quite a few down trees.  Some were difficult to get around or climb over, but I managed.

Late morning, the trail started going up.  It continued its climb throughout the morning and early afternoon. Finally, about 2:30 p.m., I reached the high point – 7,573 feet.

Do you think the trail will be all descending now?  Yeah, neither do I.

Only 35 miles to Crater Lake.
