Hurray! I went over 200 miles of total hiking so far in Oregon. It feels like I just started yesterday. Just a little over 200 more miles until I finish Oregon.
I was on the trail by 6:00 a.m. . The goal for today is to do as much as 20 miles. The day started out with an ascent that wasn’t too bad. Then the trail was flat or going slightly up or down.
After an hour, I entered into a beautiful meadow that was about a mile and a half long. It was really cool hiking along with the long views available. This morning was probably one of the more enjoyable hikes so far during this section hike.
The trail dipped in and out of forest and meadows all day. While there were climbs, none were extreme, and I maintained a two miles per hour pace throughout the day.
About 3:30 p.m. I started looking for a campsite. It was mentioned in my navigation app, Far Out, that an undocumented campsite was not too far ahead. I found the campsite at 4:00 p.m. and decided to call it a day. I made some pretty good mileage today without too much effort. Maybe I can do it again tomorrow
