Tony's Hiking Adventure

Heading South of Kearney

AZT Map Miles 533.7
Miles Hiked 523.4
Elevation 3,304 feet
Miles Hiked Today 12.2

I left the General Kearney Inn a little after 8 AM and walked out to the highway.  I was hoping for a fast pickup hitch, and I got one within 20 minutes.  It was a lady who picked me up, which is unusual.  Most woman won’t pickup a hitchhiker.  I was fortunate since she took me to the exact spot where I left the trail yesterday.

I was hiking by 9:15 AM.  The trail was mostly up.  I didn’t count the elevation gain.  I don’t want to know.  It was a clear day and although hot, certainly not as hot as yesterday.

The hiking day ended at 5 PM.  Before I setup my tent, I looked around.  No close mountains!  Tomorrow should be a bit easier.
