IAT – Riding The Roller Coaster
Day two on the Ice Age Trail and the first full day of hiking. Today, I’m riding the roller coaster up and down on the trail.

Day two on the Ice Age Trail and the first full day of hiking. Today, I’m riding the roller coaster up and down on the trail.

Different Trail – Same Hike: It was good to be hiking in a forest again. There are vastly fewer blow downs to climb over and the forest is dense.

Trout Lake Evacuated: A level 2 fire alert near Trout Lake just off the Pacific Crest Trail resulted in all hikers camped behind the General Store to be evacuated.

Again! Fire evacuation from the PCT just short of the trailhead for Trout Lake.

An Easier Day on the Trail after the Goat Rocks ordeal, which started with a 1,000 foot ascent.

The next PCT section was the infamous Goat Rocks Wilderness. The hike started with a 2,500 foot elevation gain and the promise of a tough hike.

I really did not want to go back to the trail today, but there is no choice in the matter now. I guess I’m leaving Packwood.

Today, I hike to White Pass and hitch to Packwood. I have a resupply box waiting for me at the post office in Packwood.
I’m closing on White Pass and Packwood where I want to spend the night. This day, though, there was some drama with my phone’s charging port being wet.

it’s a beautiful day after the rain. Due to a breeze that was blowing, I hoped that my tent would be dry when I put it away.
