I slept in this morning since I didn’t have far to go. Today, I’ll be going to Mama Jeanine’s home. Her and her husband are hosting me for two days.

I decided to go into Kearney today for a couple of reasons. The rocks have finally got the better of my right foot. I’m going to rest the foot for half a day.

My goal today is to finish the trail but the more immediate goal is to reach Gudy’s Rest. A short video says the rest a I come to the end of a hike to remember.

The family took me right to the Salida Hostel where I’m staying for a couple of days. What an amazing gift to meet this family and receive their help.

Rattle River Hostel. This is a great hiker hostel. After three days of tough, challenging hiking in the Wildcat Mountain range, it was time to take a shower, wash my clothes and give my body time to recover.
