Last Full Day on the Colorado Trail

Miles Hiked 478.3
Elevation 8,615 feet
Miles Hiked Today 16.0

Waking up in my tent at Taylor Lake this morning made me realize that today is the last full day of hiking. I’m writing this as I sit at my campsite just under seven miles from the Colorado Trail southern terminus. It’s been a hard, cold at times, long hike, which started in Denver and will end tomorrow in Durango. Will I miss it? My history of hiking on the Appalachian Trail says no. What I will miss is the freedom one experiences by being somewhat self sufficient and meeting all the great people you come across on the trail.

Tomorrow is the day. Only 6.7 miles to go.
