My campsite last night was secluded and quiet, so I got a good night’s sleep. I was underway just after 6:30. The people with whom I had been hiking, Steve and Mike, fell in with another group. I was not “invited” so I’m on my own again. It’s just as well. I’m putting on more miles, which I need to do because I’m going to be short food on the way into Tehachapi.
During the hike today, I became acutely aware of the boredom on the trail. Whatever there is to see in the desert, I think I’ve already seen it.
I finished the day with a big climb and then found another protected, secluded site to make camp. I’m getting close to Hiker Town. I’ll have to stop in to buy a few provisions.
