Wrightwood & Acorn Cabins – Day 2
Today is a zero day at the Acorn Cabins. No hiking today. Mike, my roommate, left early to go to town while I hung around the cabin.

Mike and I were on our way by 6:30. I met Mike yesterday. He is going to share the Acorn Cabin with me in Wrightwood. The target today is highway 2.
It was a rough day. The trail went up the entire way from 3,566 feet where I camped last night to today’s elevation – a 4,500 foot elevation gain.
The Cajon Pass Mc Donald’s was just over 5 miles, and I was set on having a breakfast sandwich and some of that lawsuit causing hot liquid in the form of tea.
The trail for the better part of the day went around Silverwood Lake. It’s a beautiful lake with plenty of boat traffic.
About 4 PM, I arrived at a road. There were two hikers there. I asked if they were going to the Joshua Inn and they were waiting for a car to take them there.
My target for the day is Deep Creek Hot Springs. Right in the large creek, there are pools of hot and cold water. I would love to soak my feet at least.
I woke up and hiked. I missed a turn, hiked 1.5 miles and then 1.5 miles back. I crossed a creek twice. I hiked to a campsite. It’s Just That Simple.
It’s back to the trail. At 9:15, I walked down to the bus stop. The bus was late, but I was onboard by 10:05. The driver knew where to drop me off for the trail
No hiking today. This is a day off in Big Bear Lake. I caught up with my journals and personal business early in the morning.
